Build & Blossom Co. is a Showit web and brand design studio founded by Carolina Hunter, serving women-led service based businesses across the United States and Canada. Since 2015, Carolina has designed websites and brand identities rooted in a fine art and photography background - and for the past 2.5 years, that experience has lived under the Build & Blossom Co. name.

CREDENTIALS:

A degree in Fine Art, a UX Design certificate from Google, and over a decade of design experience - starting with a camera in hand and evolving into building websites in 2015.

MY STORY: 

My story: I've been a creative my whole life, even before I had the words for it. It started with art, then photography. I picked up a camera after my daughter Savannah was born and fell in love with capturing fleeting moments. That photography business became a web design business almost by accident, when a life shift from city to small town sent me looking for location-independent work. I found a web design course on Instagram and realized something I'd been doing for years suddenly had a name.

I started Build & Blossom Co. because I wanted to build something that changed my family's life - work I could do from anywhere, on my own terms. That same belief drives every project: good design shouldn't be out of reach. My aesthetic -  the grain, the imperfection, the warmth that comes straight from a college film photography class that never left me.

When I'm not designing, I'm usually on the lake with my daughters, lost in a fantasy audiobook, or playing the guitar I taught myself at thirteen.

a few things you SHOULD KNOW about me

I taught myself guitar at thirteen and still pick it up when life slows down enough to let me. I'm usually mid-way through a fantasy audiobook I'm definitely too invested in. And my idea of a perfect day is floating on the lake with my girls, nowhere to be, talking about life and love until the sun goes down.

Oh — and I took a film photography class in college that was hands down the coolest thing I've ever done. The grain, the imperfection, the warmth of it. You can probably see that all over this brand.

I'm so glad you're here. Maybe we'll be friends. I have a feeling we already are.
